Jessica began practicing Yoga asana in New York in 1999 at the Jivamukti studio. A dancer for fifteen years, she has also studied Alexander Technique on a ongoing basis. An actress by profession, she moved to Toronto in 2007 and began practicing at Yogaspace.
It was here that she was inspired to delve more deeply into Yoga as a way of life and entered the Yoga Teacher Training program. Working intensely with Kathryn Beet throughout the year, she became particularly interested in, and deeply fulfilled by her training in Therapeutic Yoga, a practice that moves through a series of restorative postures accompanied by massage, reflexology, reiki and pure essential oils, drawing the practitioner deeply inwards physically, mentally and spiritually. Passionate and committed to this work, she has been instrumental in it’s development. To further enhance her skills, she enrolled in the Restorative Teacher Training Program with Hali Schwartz and the Prenatal Teacher Training Program with Sasha Padron.
Her introduction to Yoga, having been Vinyasa, Jessica has found much value in the process of slowing down and taking time in the postures. It is this that she is inspired and committed to sharing with others on personal healing journeys. Her compassion, creativity, courage, sensitivity and deep commitment to the practice has made her a teacher that students return to time and time again for the particular healing her classes offer.
Jessica’s unique Therapeutic/Restorative Flow class is one in which the principles of both Restorative and Therapeutic Yoga are combined to create a deeply healing experience. One not to be missed.
