Susan first discovered yoga at a young age, practicing with her mother at home in rural Newfoundland. A dedicated lifelong practitioner, she completed her 200-hour Hatha/Vinyasa certification under the guidance of Kathryn Beet and Patricia White and has taken additional trainings in Restorative Yoga with Hali Schwartz and Therapeutic Yoga with Kathryn. She continues to work closely with all of her teachers, assisting them in classes and partaking in ongoing mentorship. Susan can often be found assisting Hali’s Restorative Yoga classes, and is on the teams of both the Yogaspace Tuesday night Restorative Yoga class and Thursday night’s Therapeutic Yogassage. She also assists Patricia on Yoga Retreats and gets consistently excellent feedback.
SInce graduating from training at Yogaspace, Susan has continued to develop her naturally exceptional teaching skills. Years of hard work, coupled with an innate kindness, a serious sense of professionalism and a set of great natural instincts have awarded her with her very own Hatha class on Sunday mornings. In this slowly flowing class, students of all levels and abilities are treated to her exceptional talent of communicating the nuances of the poses, her intelligent sequencing and her sensitive hands on assists, all to calm the mind and invigorate the body.
“I took a vinyasa class yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it. Instead of a routine flow, Susan’s thoughtful progression kept me on my toes. She also clearly communicated the benefits of each movement which I found very helpful.” – Jim B.
