Teaching yoga is a yoga in itself. A strong yoga teacher has three well honed pedagogical tools; verbal communication, physical demonstration and an ability to sensitively work with their hands.
Effective and creative teaching is born out of consistent personal practice and persistent practice developing these three teaching tools. If we are to demonstrate and sequence the asana’s effectively, we must first understand them individually ~ not only in our minds but in our bodies, in order to be able to impart their nuances effectively. When hands on assists are indicated and invited, we must be prepared to deliver them with nothing less than intelligence, discernment and sensitivity. In this course we will develop our craft specifically towards the end of creating exceptional Hatha and Vinyasa classes founded on an ability to sequence creatively, demonstrate impeccably and deliver intelligent hands on assistance with confident accuracy.
