About New Leaf Yoga
“New Leaf’s mission is to empower youth through yoga. We work with young men and women who are creating positive change in their lives, overcoming histories of abuse, neglect, incarceration, gang-involvement, addiction, marginalization and other factors that have led them to be identified as ‘at risk’. About the Teachers
Kat Tancock started practising yoga at the tender age of 17 (many moons ago) and her practice, though sometimes sporadic, has helped her find balance, strength, continuity and stress relief through university, grad school, full-time work in the magazine industry and now a freelance career as a writer, editor and digital consultant. Kat feels blessed to have had the chance to study with so many amazing yoga teachers over the years and is thrilled to be giving back to the community and helping to bring yoga to those who might not otherwise have access. After all, it takes a community not just to raise a child, but to foster growth in each and every one of us.
