In this fun and relaxed Introduction to Yoga class led by our studio director, new students to Yoga gain the knowledge and skills to practice comfortably and safely in Level 1 and All levels Yoga classes on our drop-in schedule.
Learn about and experience:
• how to get into and out of the postures comfortably and safely
• the function of the postures and what you should be feeling in them
• basic anatomy and anatomical terms as applied to Yoga
• bringing attention to the breath
• how to modify the poses for injuries and individual bodies
• how to use props to increase the benefits of the poses
• basic Yoga class protocol ie; how we set up, how we finish, do's and don'ts etc
• the many styles of Yoga and how to find the right style to meet your needs
• the positive effects of Yoga on weight loss, anxiety, insomnia, depression, addiction, constipation, learning disorders, thyroid function, heart disease auto immune diseases and many other health ailments.
