Retiro Maya, Tulum, Mexico

An Eco-friendly Retreat

This year YogaSpace offers a new and exceptional location for participants to deeply relax, unwind and retreat. Yoga, meditation, the sound of the sea, the unhurried pace of the Caribbean and this intimate setting are ideal conditions to allow our natural state of relaxation and inner stillness to emerge. Situated on the Atlantic coast of Mexico, nestled into the white sandy beach of Tulum, Retiro Maya is located beside the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve. The entire Tulum peninsula is an electricity-free area. Lit by the stars and candles, the facility has minimal impact on the environment.

Restore and Renew
This secluded resort is bound by the jungle on one side and the ocean on the other, providing a unique opportunity to rest in the support of the natural world. There is a small market within walking distance and the famous Mayan ruins of Tulum are nearby. Mayan healers are available for sessions in massage and other forms of body work. The environment of Tulum and Retiro Maya provide the ideal conditions for a restorative and renewing yoga retreat.

Asana by the Ocean

Retiro Maya features one of the best restaurants in Tulum. With all daily meals included in our package, participants will enjoy a privileged view of the Caribbean as they savour authentic vegetarian Mexican dishes and tropical drinks. For breakfast, enjoy freshly squeezed orange juice, tropical fruits, yogurt and granola, eggs your style and homemade coffee as you listen to the soothing sound of waves.

After your yoga class, enjoy a long excursion along the beach, or a bike ride into town.
Head back to the restaurant and savor a heart-warming meal catered with love and outstanding service. About last year's retreat
The YogaSpace retreat in Isla de Mujeres was a treat – through and through. The teachers created a loving, supportive and joyful atmosphere that permeated the entire week. My daughter was welcomed with love and affection and the yoga classes were transformative for me. Thank you, thank you!

The Mexico retreat with YogaSpace was exactly what I was looking for: a balanced experience that both helped me to reconnect with my body, and allowed me to relax and enjoy beach time. Most other yoga vacations are one-sided: either a rigorous schedule and 'cleansing’ cuisine, or a spa resort lacking in focus and structure. It was the perfect blend: Focused, challenging sessions that stretched my boundaries and holiday pleasures such as watching the sunset with a tropical drink in my hand, new friends at my side!
