Practicing yoga allows a woman to focus on her pregnancy deeply.
It provides an opportunity for her to consciously integrate
the mental, emotional and physical changes during this period
in her life. A good prenatal yoga class will create an environment
in which she can access her body's inherent birthing wisdom
and trust her intuition, build her strength, confidence, and
cultivate patience.
As prenatal yoga teachers we can help empower women on their
journeys towards motherhood and enable them to meet the challenges
of that journey with awareness, courage and gentleness.
This 28 hour training is designed for; teachers who are interested
in teaching their own prenatal classes, teachers who want
to simply gain more knowledge about yoga and pregnancy and
practitioners working closely with women during their pregnancies
and labours.
The training will cover the following:
- The anatomy and physiology of pregnancy
- An exploration of the emotional and psychological aspects
of pregnancy
- The anatomy and physiology of childbirth
- Yoga asanas appropriate for pregnancy and their modifications
- Visualization, meditation, breath work and vocal toning
for pregnancy and labour
The training will also include workshops on :
- Prenatal Nutrition
- A Midwive's Perspective and Osteopathy and Pregnancy.
All students will be required to participate, observe and
assist in 6 of Sasha's Prenatal Yoga Classes.
