Welcome to the YogaSpace Pre/Postnatal Program

The remarkable journey of preparing for, giving birth to and caring for a new life is a positive, transformative experience.

Pregnancy offers expectant parents the opportunity to prepare physically, mentally and emotionally for what is perhaps the most important work of their lives – parenting. Making informed decisions about childbirth, newborn care and parenting practices is a critical investment in the relationship between parent'(s) and child. This lasting investment of preparation involves becoming informed so as to create a peaceful, loving environment in which to grow, birth and care for a new life.

Our prenatal Yoga classes offer women the opportunity to connect with other pregnant women in a nurturing environment as they gently and safely support their changing bodies, minds and spirits under the careful guidance of wise, experienced and knowledgeable Yoga teachers/doula's. Connecting to community in this way supports mother and child through this important development in their lives, both individually and together.

Our pre/postnatal program offers not only Prenatal Yoga, but also birth and parenting education to new mothers and their partners, inviting parents to build supportive relationships which will take them through the incredible journey of pregnancy and birth into parenting.

When new mothers return to their Yoga community with their newborns after the profound experience of birth and early parenting, they are greeted by the teachers and peers with whom they have built important personal relationships. Sharing birth stories with friends and mentors who care, as women regain their physical, mental and emotional strength in Postnatal Yoga provides a continuity that supports the early parenting process while erasing the possible physical and emotional complications that can arise when early parenting takes place in isolation. Our unique Mom's and Mobile babies class welcomes mothers to continue their Yoga practice alongside their toddlers in a relaxed, Mom and baby friendly environment.

The YogaSpace pre/postnatal program advocates education and choice in a responsive, supportive environment, providing a strong and stable foundation for the most profound work of your life.

Sincerely,
Kathryn Beet, Director, YogaSpace
