Alexandra’s first taste of yoga was with her father as a young child. Much later on in life she began to explore yoga her own. In 2002, she found YogaSpace and was inspired by the teachers she encountered.
During her studies as a holistic nutritionist she became pregnant and was drawn to working with women and children. Immersing herself further in learning, she completed her doula apprenticeship with Sasha Padron and the YogaSpace Teacher Training Program with Kathryn Beet and Patricia White.
Making the journey into parenthood has brought experience, perspective and knowledge to her practice both on and off the mat. She believes that Yoga brings a connection to breath which helps us ride the tide of life in any situation – during a joyful moment, the waves of labour or an all-nighter with a new born. Her classes are rooted in breath and movement, nurturing strength, resilience and flexibility during the inner and outer changes of the childbearing years.
She feels honoured to have the opportunity to learn from her two children and the many families she works with.
