Darcie came to yoga in her late teens during her first year
at university. A recent grad of YogaSpace’s teacher
training program, she incorporates yoga along with breathing
exercises and meditation in her homeopathy practice, where
she specializes in helping her clients overcome the effects
of anxiety, stress, and depression.
Darcie’s goal as a yoga teacher is to make yoga accessible
for everyone, regardless of flexibility, strength, weight,
or age. In her classes, she encourages her students to explore
and play in the poses to gain an awareness of movement in
their bodies. Throughout the class, she marries movement with
breath, exploring how the two affect each other.
Ultimately, yoga is about cultivating an awareness of the
constantly-shifting rhythms of our body, breath, and mind.
Her approach teaches you to listen in and become a passive
observer of the dynamic nature of the self.
