Certified Special Needs Yoga Teacher

Patricia brings extensive academic and performing arts experience to her understanding and teaching of yoga. For over 20 years she studied and taught with Esther Myers and continues to work with Diane Long.

Both of these teachers have significantly influenced the development of yoga in Toronto and internationally as they developed their work in the tradition of Vanda Scaravelli. Patricia has benefited from Esther’s incisive analysis, and Diane’s intuitive hands-on guidance into “movement as meditation”. She communicates from a depth of knowledge both insightful and clearly explained.

Patricia is sought out by teachers of various yoga disciplines to deepen their practice and develop their understanding of the yoga postures. For the past ten years Patricia has helped people coping with Multiple Sclerosis, severe kyphosis, scoliosis, accident injuries and age-related physical restrictions. She has distilled her approach to adapting yoga postures for students’ needs into a workshop and inspires new teachers to continue this important work.

At YogaSpace, Patricia shares her passion for yoga in classes, workshops, retreats and teacher training. She guides students into a subtle undoing of held musculature, opening to their breath and experiencing ease of movement. With skilful hands-on assists and clear explanations she invites students into a full expression of the yoga postures.
