At the foundation ofYogaspace is it’s highly
reputed Teacher Training Program. Moving into it’s
9th year, with close to 200 successful graduates, YogaSpace
offers in-depth training in both Hatha and VinyasaYoga.
Students graduate with a clear knowledge and understanding
of asana curriculum, the art and science of sequencing,
foundational philosophy and functional anatomy. We work
to bring out the unique strengths of each individual who
enters our program. In the belief that true learning begins
once students begin to teach, we offer extensive practice
teaching in our drop-in schedule community classes.
Students also assist Hatha and Vinyasa classes taught by
their training leaders. Unique to our program, students
train in TherapeuticYoga and practice as therapeutic assistants
during the training year. This greatly enhances hands-on
skills. Many graduates continue to work in this capacity
upon program completion.
Our faculty is made up of some of the most influential teachers
in the country and our graduates are teaching Yoga and directing
Yoga centres throughout Canada, the U.S, England and Australia.
TheYogaSpace teaching team, comprised of close to 40 teachers
including our teacher training leaders and top graduates,
is a testament to the careful quality of our program. We
are presently receiving applications for the October 2008-09
program. We recommend you apply early. Space is limited.
"I took the YogaSpace teacher training program
to deepen my practice and it far surpassed my expectations.
I found it offered a valuable integration of sequencing,
posture breakdowns, creative teaching, anatomy, yoga philosophy
and the fundamentals of both Hatha and Vinyasa Yoga. The
teachers were highly skilled and professional, as well as
a lot of fun, and the people I have met in the program are
friends that I will keep for a lifetime. YogaSpace has allowed
me to enhance my yoga practice and gain confidence and strength
as a yoga teacher. I began to teach early on in the program,
which had a big impact on my skills and transformed my experience.
Now as a yoga teacher, I have the opportunity to help and
connect with others, which is an incredibly healing experience
for me. I would absolutely recommend the program to anyone".
