ORIGINS

The journey to establishing Yogaspace began with a profound connection to nature and self discovery.

At 18, Kathryn first discovered yoga while living in a small community on a remote island, cultivating her independence and inner peace. This formative period shaped a lifelong commitment to creating community for growth and reflection.

Returning to Toronto, a degree in dance therapy and education was followed by several years of directing mainstream and alternative theatre. Yoga became a transformative practice through pregnancy and motherhood, evolving organically into her teaching neighborhood classes—planting the seeds for what would grow into a thriving yoga studio.

Through resilience—navigating personal setbacks, a studio fire, and two recessions—Kathryn has transformed Yogaspace into a vibrant community hub. The pandemic further evolved its purpose, reinforcing the importance of maintaining beautiful, sustainable spaces for meaningful connections through the healing practices of yoga.
