A NOTE OF RESPECT & RECOGNITION

The Yogaspace community gathers, practices, and grows on the traditional territory of many nations, including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee, and the Wendat peoples. We recognize that Toronto is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Métis communities and that this land is covered by Treaty 13 with the Mississaugas of the Credit and remains subject to the Dish With One Spoon Wampum Belt Covenant, an agreement to peaceably share and care for the land and its resources.

As a space dedicated to mindfulness, healing, and connection, we hold deep gratitude and respect for the Indigenous peoples who have been stewards of this land for generations.

We commit to ongoing learning, listening, and action to support reconciliation and honor the history and spirit of this place.

We also owe a debt of gratitude to the many teachers of the practices of yoga who have come before us and we are committed to the work of staying alive to the very real issues of colonization, oppression, appropriation and erasure so the gifts of lineage may be fostered and transmitted with deep reverence and care.
